Before your Spray Tan appointment

  • Exfoliate 24 hours before your tan, paying particular attention to dry areas such as the knees and elbows
  • Paint nails and toenails
  • Remove any unwanted hair 48 hours prior to your spray tan
  • Remove deodorant, makeup & moisturiser before arrival
  • Remove contact lenses before the treatment to avoid contamination
  • Wear dark, loose clothing and flip flors or loose fitting shoes after your appointment. Tight clothing will cause the tan to rub off

Aftercare for your Spray Tan

  • Leave the tan to develop for the recommended time try not to touch your skin to avoid transferring any tan to your hands. After this time, shower until the water runs clear and pat dry
  • Avoid activities that make you sweat and avoid getting your skin wet during the development time
  • Do not put any perfumes, deodorant or oil based moisturisers on your skin during the development time
  • Avoid oil based products
  • Avoid long baths, swimming and excessively hot showers as this will cause your tan to fade
  • Moisturise daily to enhance your tan and prolong your colour - Sienna X Gradual Untinted Lotion is perfect for this!
  • Top Tip! If you sleep in your developing tan, wear mitts or socks on your hands to avoid touching your skin at night

Remember that sunless tanning does not protect you in the sun; you still need to wear SPF to avoid burning. Look for an oil free SPF to prevent your tan from stripping.

Please note that sunless Spray Tan is not suitable if any of the following apply to you:

  • Pregnany in first trimester
  • If you have recently had any heat or skin-sensitising treatments, such as waxing, electrolysis, dermanbrasion, laser treatment, sauna use, sunburn

  • You have any open wounds or cuts
  • You have active acne

  • Respiratory problems, such as asthma. It is strongly advised to obtain written consent from your GP prior to your spray tan

This will be considered if you can obtain written consent from your GP.
